Project
SAVE is a multimedia storytelling project known as "Stories of the Archipelago of Villages in Europe". It aims to advocate and celebrate European village life by connecting creative professionals from four European countries.
Community
These creative professionals capture and share, in sound and images, 120 personal stories of people living in the communities of Praputnjak (Croatia), Jadagoniai (Lithuania), Hopovo (Serbia), and Blauhús (The Netherlands).
The portraits together form an overall portrait of a small European rural community today. SAVE explores the meaning of the word community in rural Europe; at the same time, by telling and sharing stories, the social cohesion in the rural communities is strengthened, important issues and challenges for the future are addressed, and the contemporary history of the villages is recorded.
Collective well-being
SAVE aspires to expand as a network of European villages, aiming to evolve into a platform where stories – both personal and universal – are narrated and shared. The platform seeks to showcase the diversity of values and challenges inherent in rural life, crucial for our collective well-being.
